News/Events

Hot Cross Bun Evening

Please join us on 2nd April for hot cross buns and a hot drink during your class

We kindly ask for a £1 donation for refreshments, proceeds to Dogs on the Streets

We would like to say a huge thank you to all our members who attended our AGM

This evening is incredibly important in ensuring the continued running of the club and thanks to your generosity our raffle raised an amazing £110 to kickstart this year’s fundraising for Dogs on the Streets!

This year we have again decided to raise money for Dogs on the Streets

Founded by Michelle Clark in 2016, DOTS is an incredible volunteer-run, not-for-profit charity dedicated to the welfare of dogs belonging to the UK’s homeless community. They ensure these dogs have free access to veterinary care, food, grooming and so much more

Last year we raised £1,334.95 for DOTS and were absolutely touched at the gratitude Michelle showed us for this. Her and her team’s dedication and hard-work is truly inspiring and we are honoured to again be raising money for such a fantastic cause

Please visit www.dogsonthestreets.org for more info on how you can help support this wonderful charity and check our News/Events page for updates on our upcoming fundraising evenings

FAQs

How do I join?

Please fill out the above “Contact Us” form. Let us know your dogs age, breed and name. We will advise which class we feel most suitable and if we have availability. We accept puppies after their first vaccination. Older dogs require a free in-class assessment before registering so we can determine if the class environment is suitable for them. It is then a matter of arranging a starting date and turning up. As we do not run courses and instead operate on a “pay as you go” basis, you do not need to wait until a specific date to join us, we take new members at any time, provided we have availability. In the event your desired class is full, we can put you on our waiting list and contact you when a place becomes available

What do I need to bring with me?

Please ensure your dog is wearing a collar with a nametag and lead. You will also need to bring poo bags and training treats

Can children attend/train?

We are child-friendly, however children must remain quiet and seated during the class to not distract the dogs whilst working. Children over the age of 12 can train

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?

Dogs require their first vaccination before training with us. You will be asked to show your vaccination certificate in class during our registration process

My dog is reactive/aggressive towards other dogs/people. Is this something you deal with?

We are an obedience training club so we do not deal with these types of issues. We will always recommend you contact a behaviourist to support with this

Is there parking?

We have on-site parking and there is also free street parking on surrounding streets such as Larkswood Road

Do you have accessible access?

Yes. We have both wheelchair access ramp and a wheelchair accessible toilet

Will classes ever be cancelled and will I be notified?

During extreme weather, we occasionally make the decision to cancel training sessions, this is always done in the dogs best interest. We aim to notify members of any cancellations ASAP either via WhatsApp, email or social media. Although we operate throughout the year, we do have a summer and Christmas break. Members will be notified of this in class, with reminders being sent out via the above mentioned methods
